Not no but hell no. They have no right to shoot ANYONE in the back. I don't care if it is an illegal or not. How would any of you like to be shot in the back??? That's what I call being a coward, to shoot someone in the back like that.

Mexican Cat: I think you are wrong. It doesn't matter how awful or bad a person is, they DO NOT DESERVE to be shot in the back.

Get your story straight! They shot him in the butt and this happened after he fought with one and got away and then stopped and pointed at the other border patrol who was chasing him. Sad thing is this guy made it back to Mexico and filed a complaint for being shot in the butt. When the 2 border patrol inspected the vehicle that the guy was in they found lots of drugs being brought across the border. Now remember this all happened after a long car chase and the guy would not stop.

Now I do not know the whole story and I know you do not either. They have been convicted and found guilty so I am sure what ever happened out there went bad. The sad thing is this guy that was shot is a known drug dealer and you have the nerve to defend him.

The guy who go shot should never have ran from them or even got into a fight with one of the officers. What ever happened after the fact is all his fault. I'm just sorry they did not kill him.

You must be sympathetic to illegals coming across the border. I have no problem with people coming to this country but do it legally.

Of course I would defend our border patrol. This bozo knew that he was doing wrong. He had all of that marijuana and was running from the law. He got what he was asking for. Those border patrol agents should not be in jail. That isn't right at all. I signed the petition and posted it somewhere here for people to sign as well. I know it probably won't do any good but those guys shouldn't be punished, they should be rewarded. I will always defend the Minutemen and the border patrol.

Mendi8a, you are very wrong on this story. That guy was a horrible man. The border patrol made a tough decision which officers have to do everyday. Protect the innocence but don't protect this beast who was shot. Stand up for the good but not the bad. It makes everything else you have said look bad. I hope you are just having a bad day and you didn't really think about this. There is bad in both nations but let us stand up for the good not the bad. I am sorry if this offends you. I look at your posts often and found many very good, but here we disagree.

Hell ya i would defend the united states in anyway..... The point of your question is just wrong though.... You have to relize that the person who infact the shot was a crimminal....The agents even said they were under the inpression that he had a gun.. In fact the man who got away even beat the **** out of one of the agents. and yet people are happy that he got off.... This is not right..Here is a man trying to come into the united states illegally for one and with 800 Pounds Of Marijuana In His Van... What the hell.... This man should be inprisioned for life... First for assult on an goverment offical, traficking, intent to sell, transporting an illegal substance,..... The point is that he is the one that is the criminal not the agents.......

i would not support him just because he could had contacted the Mexican authorities instead of playing judge or god . the border patrol doesn't suppose to shoot anyone unless they are being shoot or about to be shoot or their lives are in obvious danger . what he did was pure abuse plus the other guy can't defend himself anymore so it is kind of easy to accuse him or something which he might or might not had done , they had done it before so i wouldn't de surprised .

sure, they could be allowed to take care of against the tide of illegals. As is, they're being put in a place of having to threat their lives for what? For our government to grant sanction to those crossing besides. communicate some schizophrenic game plan. Liberals are crammed with em.

The story I heard was that this guy crossed the border to bring drugs into the U.S. and he tried to get away when he realized the Border patrol was on to him, he crashed his truck and ran for the border and when the B.P. was chasing him they thought he was reaching for a gun and shot him. Sounds like justifiable homicide to me.

Who said they were unarmed?

Police and others in dangerous situations where they are expected to use their guns are also given some room for mistakes, no one being perfect. This was not, under any stretch of the imagination an innocent person. Also he was shot in the butt which doesn't indicate to me that anyone tried to murder him.

I am not trying to second guess the tryer of fact, but it sounds like someone with an exemplary record is being scapegoated in favor of a criminal, and it does, in fact, sicken me.

First of all, if you are not in law enforcement, you have no idea what a typical day is like for them. The illegal drug smuggler was running from the BP officer and stopped and turned and had something shiny in his hand. Do you expect the officer to just wait and see what happens, hoping that it is not a gun as he suspected? DUH! That is a great policy for our law enforcement officers: "Now if they look like they are holding a gun, you cannot do anything until they shoot it at you, just to be sure." Hmmm... we would not have any law enforcement and if that were the case.
