Take a multivitamin, if you have food cravings you may be short on a vitamin.

Drink enough water, you may mistake thrist for hunger.

Make a distinction between appetite and hunger. If you don't have a gnawing pain in your tummy, it isn't physilogic hunger...it is mental appetite.

Eat more frequently. Plan what you are going to eat BEFORE you get hungry. If you wait till you are hungry to make the decision, it is like deciding to eat once you are already AT the party. Things are gonna go wrong.

You don't have to have it planned out like a Nazi, but know what you have around.

Right now for snacks at home I have pretzels, banana's, apple sauce, popcycles, or slim fast bars.

For dinner I can either have a
"smart ones" frozen dinner,
Left over "Lite" pizza
a PB & J on wheat,
a 2% cheese "grilled" (broiled) cheese sandwhich,
or BBQ Chicken & veggies w/ mash potatoes.

Tomorrow for breakfast I will have 1 1/2 c. of cereal with 1 cup of 1% milk. and a little cup of peaches.

Then I pretty much know all the different restaurants I eat at frequently, which item is the best one for me to order. I get online and look at their menu/calories etc. IT helps you make the decision.

Basically if you are hungry all the time you should probably up you protein and your fiber. What ever you are eating isn't sticking with you very long.

If you want a good program, try Weight Watchers, I'm on week 13 and I have lost 31 pounds. It is really easy to stick with.

Anyhow, good luck

Curbing appetite creates stress making you fatter. Harvard U website says it is not how much, but what you eat that matters.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

I understand this, eating can become quite an addiction! I take a banana to work, along with a nature valley health bar, they're very filling and handy to have with me. I also chew sugarless gum. Water in between all day helps too.

How about eat small meals throughout the various times of the day?

That seems to work well for a lot of people.

And if you want to eat a lot, choose vegetables or fruits! Those are good for you, and even if you eat them a lot, it shouldn't make you gain a lot of weight. :D

I have trained myself to like the feeling of being hungry. It really works!! Now, I HATE to be full. It hurts me. I enjoy being hungry so I dont eat much.

Drink a glass of water everytime you feel hungry. It's not only good for your body, it is also good for your skin.
