Dunno what it is - just can't seem to shift the extra weight..before getting pg some people thought I was so skinny I looked ill/anorexic - not that I was.. wondered if that had something to do with it..

Or my better half pointed out that because never get proper rest/sleep that metabolism might be all to pot..

Who knows!?

1. you don't have as much time now to exercise, so you don't lose the weigt.
2. You have a small child that can eat things that you shouldn't but do. You probably also finish what is on their plate since it is not so wasteful
3. You have an excuse. You had a child and it is acceptable up to a point to be bigger than you were before.
4. You may have a wonderful husband that loves you no matter what so you don't feel the need to shed those pounds.
5. Your body will change some. You may weigh the same but are porportioned differently.
You really have to work to get the weight off, but if you really want to, it will. It may also be nice for you to have your husband watch your child while you get away to exercise. It reduces stress and you will lose weight too.

Anything above and beyond normal pregnancy weight gain, is fat. And yes, your metabolism does slow down after having children.

Take time out for you. If you work full time, join curves or go to a place like bally's to get a workout on your lunch hour. If you don't work full time, take the baby for a walk. You will need to walk at least 30-45 minutes a day, to lose the weight. At first, do it in intervals. Start off 15 minutes, then kick it up 5 minutes every day until you hit at least 30.

After having 5 children, my metabolism was shot. I would get up early to go to work, get home and take care of the kids. By the time I got to bed, I was shot. I ate garbage too. Well, I got sick of being a size 18 and decided to change my life.

I bought the South Beach Diet book. It helped me get away from the carbs, and slowly reintroduced them back into my life. In a good way. And, it helped me lose the belly fat first. After having children this was my problem spot! I used my mom's old "abs of steel" video. Out of all the vids out there, this is still my favorite pick. Very easy to do, and it's only 15 minutes a day. I bought a dog. Kids love her. Walked her every day - I just got up 1/2 earlier than normal. Well, I went from a size 18 to a size 6 within a summer.

Now, pregnant with twins - I still maintain the South beach fundamentals, and continue to eat healthy. Now that walking is out of the picture as I'm on bedrest - I'm still maintaining a good pregancy weight. And know that the weight won't be so hard for me to lose this time around.

It depends. I was painfully thin, under 100 lbs. and 5'6" before I was pregnant. I wore a size 0. After the baby, I wore a size 4.

I never went back to my prepregnancy weight, but that was just fine.

Are you expecting to go back to an elfin shape? After the baby this is not possible for a few years. Why not just exercise for strength and muscle tone? As long as you feel good, you will be able to relax enough for more of the weight to come off.

This happens to A LOT of people... including me. It has been 18 months since I had my baby and I still have an extra 8 lbs. I dont eat a lot and I definitely get my workouts with the baby!

depends if your measuring or going by weight, coz ur body shape changes once youve had kids and that will never change back. then its all a visious circle coz ur shape has changed (wider on the hips/stomach normally, unless your extremly lucky) the fat has more space to spead out, it just aint fair! weight wise though i got rid of mine by going on a diet 2 weeks after the 1st one then 4 weeks after the 2nd i figured the longer it stays on the harder it is to shift. i find though the the best way to keep it of is by giving yourself an upper weight limit when you hit it, diet time again, its a bit of a yoyo but i find its only about once a year. i give myself half a stone leway. so i like to be 8.5 stone if i get to 9 i go on a diet until im back down then end up going back to the normal junk, so go round again. fun!

Whether its pregnancy weight or other, it takes just as long to loose the weight as it took you to put it on. But with pregnancy you've got the added problem of your stomach muscles getting out of shape. So, even if you lost your pregnancy fat, you may have made your stomach muscles very loose and flabby. That is what you need to target by doing stomach muscle strengthening exercises.

try breast feeding for longer it makes the weight come off, well it did for my first wife... when women get pregnant they store fat to provide milk for the young if you don't breatd feed you keep the fat... even if the baby doesn't eat it you should still express it to drop the fat off you... makes sense don't it?

Maybe if you did something and not sit on your butt in judgement of other people then you could shift pounds
