I'm guessing that if there really ARE conventions and Christians stomped all over the place, barking about Jesus and Hellfire and repentence, the event coordinators would have security bounce those disruptive jerks out onto their holy butts. A street corner evangelist can wave pamphlets so close to your nose that you can smell the ink, but in a controled environment they aren't allowed to harrass the Lord into your heart.

I am neither a "Jesus freak" nor a "bible thumper"...I am far from either. My guess is that some over the top religious fanatics probably do attend atheist conventions but maybe not the ones you attend. It is their right to do so just as it is your right to have those conventions. As far as getting "smashed in a debate" I think both sides have equal fuel for their fires. Christians have alot of history and documentation for what they believe. Although you, as an atheist, may rebuke alot of it, the fact is that it remains and alot of it can't be debated intelligently.
If you are proud of being an atheist, then so be it, but there is no need to insult those who believe differently.

Because if you don't want to be saved and our pushing out God, you have chosen your road, You have to make the decision, satan is the ruler of the world until Jesus returns, except for those that accept the Lord as their saviour, when the mesiah returns, satan and all who follow will be sent to the firery pit, and you cannot just be athiest, you have to choose one or the other, personally I'd much rather have Gods protection after I have personally seen what God has done in my life, My life was all messed up with alcohol and unimaginable sins, until I accepted the Lord, I drank for 16 years straight, and when I accepted Jesus, I no longer have the slightest taste for alcohol or my own sins, I am a whole new different person in the Lord, so people are not telling fairy tales, I am living proof, that Jesus Christ does exist, as well as many others, and if we did not have God, who do you suppose is caring enough right now, to protect us from all of this evil, their are still evil people out there that satan is influencing, but it takes the good to stop the bad from killing us all at any given moment, maybe instead of trying to be right and proud, you should do some inside soul searching, of who you really are, why you are here, and what you represent, because to me an athiest represents nothing, which would only mean you don't exist.

You should head over to England -- they actually have "soapbox" preachers (Christians, Muslims, and so forth) over there who stand on boxes around one of the parks (not sure which one) and argue theology to anyone walking by.

Apparently they draw very large crowds and get into some very heated theological/intellectual discussions. I guess this is what happens when a country doesn't have enough "reality TV" to occupy itself with. :)

...Thought you might find it interesting to hear about, since it's the sort of thing that would happen if a Christian showed to preach at an atheist convention...

[Hmmm. I wonder if God ever goes to an Atheist convention. Maybe he wears a disguise...]

I was totally in the dark about the conventions. Son of a....

Yes, the getting smashed in a debate thing probably scares them away. Your conventions must be protected by a force that keeps Mormons and fundementalists away. They will argue. And some of them are quite convincing.

I don't realize that atheists conducted conventions. If I was to attend a convention like that I wouldn't try to "convert" you. I don't like the word "convert". I genuinely don't believe in atheists. Atheists say there is no God but, they make themselves god. I believe it is a heart rebellion not an intellectual issue. Besides a true christian wouldn't simply want to win a debate. They would care about leading you into a relationship with God. If you didn't want one, we would respect your wishes. That's between you and God on judgment day.

Why would I do that? I wouldn't force my beliefs on you that way. I wouldn't force my beliefs on you period. I actually believe those that do are going about it the wrong way. Its a lose-lose proposition. Those that attend these rallies, that are Christians, are going with a confrontational mentality bent on expressing thier beliefs to an unwilling participant. That gets us nowhere. It also puts us in a bad light when Christians get sucked into a confrontation situation. That is very UNchristian, in my opinion. Those attending the Athiest rallies have no intention of listening to you. You believe your ways and are expressing them by attending the highest of your functions. Most Christian organizations should be so lucky. Your in no mood for confrontation, but get sucked in by the over the top extremeist of the hardcore Christian. They mean well, but have a misguided thought process. Right or wrong, you believe one thing and I believe another. I'll at least respect that. Simply this...

God reveals himself to all, in his own special way, so that none are with excuse. You now know. Love and peace be with you.

Do you realize that you just called yourself weak!?! And rightly so. It takes a person of strong conviction to become and stay a true Christian. Most do not have the will or the patience. Look around at the world and tell me that is'nt so.To be a atheist is a easy way out. it takes no effort. Just like hate.

We have conventions? Why wasn't I invited?

"It's not that we won't get smashed in a debate, we prefer not to make you look like a fool in front of thousands of people. "

So you're saying that you WOULD get smashed in a debate?

I cannot possibly imagine what you would talk about at an athiest convention. Did you forget that you don't believe in anything????
See when we go to Church that is because we listen and learn about Jesus. I just keep picturing you and a bunch of lost souls sitting there...yeah and just sitting there that's all. LOST LOST LOST
