someone said in an answer to one of my questions a while ago, life is a game that those of us alive still havent quit
carpe diem
i have a pet theory that when i die my soul/consciousness will leave my body and go to the stars,
cause memory is on dna you see, and its like atoms can leave the brain right,
so "whose to say" that the atoms that have my memories and my indiviuality wouldn't leave, go to the heaven above, and observe the orbits of the planets around our son, and in time, gain a knowledge of science
i base this on some things ive heard in life, that there are atoms from julius caesars last breath in every breath of air we take, and that the matter from the atomic bomb over hiroshima is in every ones body
destruction, and the breath of a dying man, all inside us,
why not my soul, implanted on a dna molecule or cell or protein strand or whatever, would leave my body and float into you and enter your mind and your consciousness
and inevitably, all these consciousnesses would go along the same path in the heavens,
and meet until the end probably in a black hole, all the souls of men and women and children entertwining and comparing notes of all the knowledge and memories we made and make,
"whose to say"
i always hated that when i heard that from someone,
but i am not trying to change you to my religoius believe, or trying to legislate anyone based on my belief,
its not reincarnation, more like, we all float on in eternal life to a greater collective consciousness,
on earth carpe diem for sure, where i will study knowledge, and get thoughts in my head, and get different opposing thoughts, and there will be mansions of thoughts, and these thoughts will bump into each other, bumping and colliding, and an intellectual giant i might become, for if all i heard was the echo of my own original hypothesis, twold be a dwarf

The physical universe is a very small part of spiritual reality. The physical universe exists in a temporal bubble inside eternity, which is atemporal.
In other words, eternity is not a never ending period of time, as many believe, but rather a state of existence without time. It is, in essence, the total absence of time.

Eternal life is living forever without dying. But according to the laws of thermodynamics & entropy that's a clear impossibility. The best we canhope for is to live healthy long lives & forget that claptrap about eternal life from a mythical book or spurious religion.

i think of, between the two, karma and/or reincarnation is greater rational than the thought persons are going to be tortured for eternity in some place made out of hearth and brimstone. a minimum of in yet another life you have a raffle to make your own options in accordance with situation. And the assumption of of heaven looks like, after approximately 500 years, you would be bored of the region.

Eternal life is different than immortality. Every person who ever lived on this earth with gain immortality by being resurrected, no matter what. But, Eternal life is living with God, "'the greatest of all of God's gifts".
"Those who gain eternal life receive exaltaion, they are sons of God, joint heirs with Christ... they overcome all things, have all power, and receive the fulness of the Father. They are gods." - Mormon Doctrine

To me, eternal life is the fullfillment of a promise God made long ago, "The meek shall inherit the earth Psalm 37:11
and vs. 29 "The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it."

The words of Jesus Christ also show that eternal human life is possible. He said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3.)
Like sinking sailors, we can be rescued but with the even greater prospect of everlasting life. “The wages sin pays is death,” wrote the apostle Paul, “but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23.) Through Jesus’ ransom sacrifice, God will remove human imperfection and death and will bestow upon obedient mankind the gift of everlasting life.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life."
"36 He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life."
(John 3:16. 36.)
"For this is the will of my Father, that everyone that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life."
(John 6:40)
"Do not be misled: God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap; 8 because he who is sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh ... So let us not give up in doing what is fine, for in due season we shall reap if we do not tire out. 10 Really, then, as long as we have time favorable for it, let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to [us] in the faith."
(Gal. 6:7-10.)
"Fight the fine fight of the faith, get a firm hold on the everlasting life for which you were called and you offered the fine public declaration in front of many witnesses." (1 Tim. 6:12)
We base our hope "upon the basis of a hope of the everlasting life which God, who cannot lie, promised before times long lasting." (Titus 1:2)
"And this is the witness given, that God gave us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that has the Son has this life."
(1 John 5:11-12)

Personally, i think it's your family and friends that continue to think about you long after you're gone that give you eternal life.
