Depends on what you want to buy. There are excellent souvenirs in Port of Spain. Where the cruise ships dock there are some duty-free shops. However I have found that the best deals are at the international airport departure lounge. For one, the shopping is duty free and two you get about 6Trinidad and Tobago dollars for $1.00 U.S dollar.

All depends on what you are looking to buy. Prices also vary where you shop. If you go to the duty free you may have to pay alot more for the items. There are some malls where you can get souvenirs etc at reasonable prices. If you tell me the area you intend to stay, I can provide more detailed info. for you.

For souveniers...Sun Tings is FULL of all the nick nacks you could ever wish for. Excellent Trading on Frederick St has a smaller selection but the prices are very reasonable.
For bolts of cloth - Henry St of course - all those Syrian fabric stores. I always pick out a couple of pieces for my mother in law back in Canada.
If you are willing to risk your life (traffic is murder!!), Charlotte St has cheap clothing stores. Last time I was there I got pair of leather flip flops for $30TT. Nice!
Another place for reasonably priced nice clothes... - Chaguanas!!! It's worth the trip.
