Depends on your genetic makeup. Typically what you want to do is raise your metabolism to burn more fat. To do that you will need to eat 5 healthy meals a day, small portions. For example, if you eat 2500 calories a day and you're overweight, you will have to reduce your caloric intake. So, instead of starving yourself to death, take a close look at what you eat on a daily basis. Write this down and study it to determine what you need to eliminate. Myself I went cold turkey and jumped right on a Pritikin diet for runners, and it was hell for the first 2 weeks. I would not recommend it, you need to slowly transition your body into the diet or it will go into survival mode, trust me. Also remember, there is no subsitute for exercise, you must do it to remain healthy!

Why are you on the diet in the first place? I'm going to assume it's to lose weight. I like to think of it this way. When you're hungry and your stomach is growling, it's eating the fat you may have, and that's what you want to get rid of, right? I mean, if you have some extra poundage, your body is not going to starve itself simply because it has that fat to feed off of. So, if you're on a diet that says don't eat between meals, then don't. Drink water or pure juice instead (by that, I mean no sugar crap). Keep this in mind though. In order to keep the weight off, you have to stick with this diet. This diet will no longer be that, but it will become a lifestyle for you. Are you willing to do that? If you can't upkeep this diet, you might want to start looking for a new one.

Actually...that hungry feeling means your metabolism is going slower. You can eat up to 5 SMALL meals a day and still lose weight as long as you eat the right foods in SMALL portions.

No...that would defeat the purpose of the diet, wouldn't it? Drink water. You're more likely not really hungry, but just feel as if you are because you know you are not supposed to eat. You will be accustomed to it an a day or two...don't sabatoge yourself without giving it your best shot...you can do it!

The idea of dieting is to consume less calories. Therefore, you're going to be hungry. Unless you're literally ready to pass out, then try to wait until your next meal. If you need to, try a healthy snack like celery or a carrot.

Drink ice cold water. At least 8oz. Your body has to heat the water so it burns calories. Plus it gives you a full feeling that will last a couple hours. Try a sugar free jello if you get ravenous. It has no calories and essentially is just jelled flavored water. Good luck.

You should eat at least fruit or something small in between meals.

If you are truly hungry (not just "I feel like eating") then yes, eat something healthy. Forcing yourself to go hungry just sets you up to binge on something that's not good for you. Your body is telling you it needs food.

Yes, eat. You can eat something like jicama, or carrots or a little fruit! They won't make you gain any weight and they're great for keping you full because of the fiber :-)

Try drinking ice water, that can help the hunger alot. But if you must eat, eat something that takes as many calories to chew as it holds....like celery, or cucumbers.
