.Nowhere. You can get a prepaid debit type card. The companies you apply through are wondering how you would pay them without a checking account.

I don't think security deposits go on credit cards lol. The reason for having to have a bank account or savings account is because they take that as proof that you have money, and so without one it looks like you don't have money otherwise you'd have a bank account. So without one, you can't get a credit card. I don't know what the reasons are behind you not having a bank account but you really don't need a credit card. I learned my lesson the hard way. If you're trying to get back on your feet a credit card may help temporarily, but it will make things worse in the long run. Stay away from credit cards...it'll be the smartest thing you've ever done.

No checking account + no savings account = no credit card
But not to worry, there exist small finance companies that might loan you up to $850.00 without a bank account.
You must have an "ID"
You will need a bill with "your name" on it; telephone, electric or gas bill; Some, not all, will ask you to put up collateral such as your car's title, or the serial numbers off of items you own(its great if you have receipts) for your electronic equipment ie. computer, stereo, television,DVD player, etcetera and/or lawnmowers, weedeatters, air compressor, something of value that you own. Make a list of your items and their serial numbers to take with you when you apply. Once you have everything together look in the phone book under loans. There, hopefully you will find little locally owned finance/credit businesses named something like; Frontier Loans, World Loans, Customer Credit Corp, Bell Finance, Community Loans Inc., Continental Credit, Security Finance, Standard Credit Co. These places will help you to establish or re-establish your credit. They will set you up a loan, and you will be required to repay in small monthly payments over several months time. So you'll be back on your feet in no time if you spend your loan wisely.
Good Luck and make your payments on time!

its not possible. Secured credit cards are prepaid (a security deposit). If you manage to get an unsecured card, they need you to have a bank account so they know you can actually pay them! They can't give away money and just take your word that you will pay them back.

Why don't you have a checking account? Probably b/c you owe some bank money and can't open one. If that's the case, and you really want to get back on your feet again, then you got to pay off what you owe to them.

A lot of people would like that kind of card, but they don't exist.
a "credit card" is for people with credit, thats why they call it a
CREDIT-card. It just don't work any other way.

BINGO!!! You just resolved it in your own paragraph.
You must have a checking and savings account. You have to show that you are a responsible individual.
