I think your daughter is ready for a big girl bed. Having moved each of my sons out of their cribs at vastly different times, there is no pat answer for this question. A toddler bed will probably only work for a couple of years, so I would go ahead and put her in a twin bed with a safety rail.
Warning, the first time you wake up with her little face staring at yours, it may be a little disorienting!

When they can crawl out of the crib it is time to switch to another bed. I have my kids in full beds. Their room is big enough for that though. I would buy an adult size bed that fits in the room. You are not wasting money on a toddler bed. I know the toddler bed is cheaper, but they cannot stay in it that long. Move to the adult bed and the only expense are the rails to put on the sides to protect them from falling out.

My son started jumping, yes jumping, from the crib at about ten months. As soon as they start trying to climb out of the crib or seem big enough to be able to do it if they wanted to, then they should be moved. The size of the bed is depends on your space, but they should have some time of rails so that they don't fall out.

My children went to a toddler bed between the age 1-2. The toddler beds they have, have sides raised up so they don't fall out. If your toddler can get out of their crib now I would suggest getting a toddler bed before she falls. My chidren are 3 and 5 and they are still in their toddler beds.

WOW shes just putting her legs thru the crib sides now? My daughter was doing that when i took the crib bumpers out when she was 6 months old!
I moved her to a toddler bed at 13 months. She loves it.

I went straight to a twin, I thought toddler beds, although cute, were a waste of money. My son went to his big boy bed when he was just over 2. Unless she can climb out, she's fine in the crib. If she climbs out, get a crib tent (They work wonders!!).

I've found that at this age it doesn't matter what size bed you put them into as they seem to sleep on the floor instead :)
really though as long as the bed isn't real high off the floor any size is fine and you may as a precaution want to put the crib mattress on the floor beside the bed just in case!

Time for her to go into a toddler bed. She is getting much to big for a crib and she will start to climb out of it soon.

I would get a twin bed with rails so that she does not fall off. I put my youngest son in a toddler bed and he outgrew it way too fast. I waited until he was 18 months old and did great.

I have always given them a toddler bed when they can climb out of the crib (that becomes unsafe)..and as far as choice of sizes, that is up to you, I have started them out smaller and go to twin when they wanted to.
