The English just uncovered a 911-magnitude plot in London today, as most of you know. Twnety-one Muslims have been arrested as a result and more are to follow. While the plot failed, there is already speculation that the airline industry cannot handle the economic fallout.
Bush responded to this plot by using a new phrase to describe the Muslims behind this plot. As we all know, the media uses a whole slew of PC phrases to describe the attackers, stufff like: "terrorists", "radical Islam", "militants", "insurgents"..etc. CNN actually used the phrase "War against Islamists" when Lou Dobbs declared that "since most armed conflicts today involve Islamists, its seems silly for us to continue to call this a 'war on terror' and therefore today we will call it a 'war against Islamists'".
As you probably guessed, leftists and the Islamic lobby (CAIR) put the screws to Lou Dobbs and CNN quickly stopped the use of the more accurate phraselogy.
Does Bush's new phrase represent a change?

I agree that this is a war against Islamic extremists or if you prefer, Islamic fascists. But I hesitate to use the word fascist. Not for PC reasons, but because it is a word that is overused and misused. Like the word "awesome' it has lost much of its usefulness. Musolini, Franco and Hitler were Fascists, I not so sure about Islamic terrorists. To be a fascist I believe you have to have the power of the state behind you. Lebanon, Syria and Iran certainly support groups like Hezbollah, but this is war by proxy. I didn't hear the speech that Bush gave, but his use of the phrase "Islamic fascists" would signal a new attitude and approach to the matter. The "War on Terror" slogan is a misnomer and an attempt to make this seem less like a war between Islam and Christianity. Perhaps now, the gloves have been taken off.

I do not believe that Bush knows or cares what he is saying any more. Would the Saudis be able to maintain con troll of the Arabian peninsula if the US started openly calling it a war on Islam, Would the Muslims in other countries like Pakistan, who have been docile till now join in the general fun. Big trouble coming, especially if idiots continue making speeches for domestic consumption without realizing that the world is a small place and that a whisper can be heard everywhere at the speed of light.

You know, the entire media is trying to be the first with flashy catch phrases. No, I don't think President Bush was putting a slam on Islam.
By the way I thought Lou Dobbs was going to have a stroke last night, on his dissertation about the US Attorney's office pressing charges against two Border Patrol officers that shot a drug dealer who was loaded down with drugs and fired at them first.

Its not really inaccurate to call the radical islamics that.
To see this one must simply analyze the 2 groups for simularities and there are plenty of them.
I have no problem with that label as it differentiates between the peaceful islamics and the terrorists

YES!!! This is a fact and until the Islamic Clerics should stop teaching Islamic hatred toward the West and civillized peoples of the world, then we can have peace instead of terror.

Obama is basically too smart to characterize the dumba$$ inhabitants of united statesa.. human beings do no longer deserve Obama; they deserve the likes of George Bush who thinks on a similar point of excellent judgment (that's quite low).

we are having the same war over here in middle east.. .the christian fascist terror... to sweep christian terrorists off our region..!! yes we dont need christian terrorists armies in our area.. we must blow them out of iraq and afghanistan and lebanon..!! they dont feel our pain when they kill 100 people everyday.. they cant feel pain.. no they cant!! thats why some few vvery few screwed up muslims cant keep their cool and join some so called islamic groups to kill westerners in their area to tell them "why did they bomb my family" ... most of the terrorists are victims of iraq or anywhere else... got my poiint???
the problem isnt that muslims are too extremists.. the problem is that they are too smart... todays attacks were stopped with the help of PAKISTANI INVESTIGATION AGENCY.. without them no one could've stopped this tradegy to happen!!
so only muslims can stop another muslim to stop it!
and i am against alll type of terrorism.. christian or muslim-- declared!
