You can do your exercises while having period but refrain from those exercises that need more physical exertion as it may have some undesirable impact on your reproductive system.
Though many studies that measured physiological responses of the menstrual cycle in women during exercise found no performance changes, any changes most likely depend on the individual and her specific conditions. Some women suffer more from cramping, PMS, or heavy bleeding than others and thus may impact their performance.
It is never bad to have exercise when you have periods but you are the one who can best determine if you are comfortable doing it.

I remember when the myth of being on your menses (period) was considered harmful during exercise. Studies show that exercise may lessen cramping associated with periods. So exercise away and I don't know what we were thinking back then!!

You may not want to on the first day, especially if you cramp badly, just because you may not feel like it. But many find that exercise helps combat cramps.
So, there is no reason to avoid exercise during your period.

yes you should exercise during your period because when you exercise your brain releases feel good hormones. however, if you feel too tired or like your gonna faint, try try lighter exercises, or dont do as much, and when you do feel faint, you shouldnt continue the exercise, its ok to take a break! good luck, hope i helped!

Yeah! It may make you cramp the first few times, but after a while it acually take the cramps away. I bike for an hour a day during mine and it makes me feel like I'm not even having it.

There shouldn't be a problem with exercising then, but you might notice your flow increase during that time because you're just helping it come out faster. So, you might want to change your pad sooner.

good! exercising makes your body emit endorphins, which are the chemicals that make you feel happy (notice that after you exercise you feel kind of buzzed and kind of good? those are endorphins). these chemicals may reduce some of the symptoms of your period, such as moodiness, bloatedness, and may even help your cramps to be less painful as the exercise and stretching may help the cramps to be less brutal.
