OK, stupid question time. I'm flying from Houston to Seattle tomorrow, which is a 4-hour flight. That's a long time to go without something to drink. Does the liquid ban apply only to passengers, or to any liquid in the cabin? In other words, will we still have the customary beverage carts making the rounds, or are all flyers destined to be very thirsty when they reach their destinations?

In flight beverage services will not change. Although you cannot bring on any outside drinks, in flight drinks are usually provided by a airport authorized catering company that is secure and badged by the airport. You will be able to purchase drinks at the gift shops and restaurants in the terminal building, but those items will not be allowed onto the plane.

Don't forget, ANYTHING liquid, like shaving cream and toothpaste will have to be put in your check-in luggage.

Isn't that just crazy?

since they never check stuff coming in from internal sources, they probably will still have it. They should do that too but they don't.
