By no means should you stay next to someone you don't like if there's someone else out there you like more. Just be polite and decline any other encounter, and pursue the other bloke.

Was this a first date or someone you are actually involved with?

If its a first date...try excusing yourself from the table to take a restroom break and then slip your phone number to the other guy...but be discreet about it.

If you're in a restaurant and attracted to one of the personnel....go back to the restaurant when you're not on the date and strike up convo...or get the guy's name and then slip your # to one of his friends.

But if you were on a date with someone you've been dating a while...my suggestion is stop dating the guy because its obvious you're not really into him.

I have NEVER been stood up for another woman while on a date! And I would not be so rude as to leave with some guy other than the one that I went out with, nor would I ignore the man that I was dating. That would be extremely rude.

The only exception would be if the man that I went out with became, somehow, offensive or dangerous to be with.

No. That would be rude and inappropriate. Sometimes you have to control your emotions instead of letting your emotions control you.
