we took home some leftovers from eating out and I just wanted to know if it's ok to reheat this meal and the best way to do it

Hey Elaine,

While I've never heard of anyone getting sick, because these are Bi-valves and they may hold some pathogens, I wouldn't chance it.

Reheating Mussels

Were the mussels and pasta in the frig? If so, it is safe.

If you have a microwave you can put them on plates, cover them and heat them at 70%-80% power for about 2 minutes.

If you don't have a microwave, you could probably put the mussels in a sauce pan, add a little water, cover and steam them until they are hot.

Likewise with the pasta, put it in a saucepan, add a little water (unless it has sauce with it) and heat it on medium heat until it's warmed through.

Yes! Yum!!! Just put a little bit of olive oil in a pan and reheat the pasta on your cooktop.

its just as safe as reheating any other shellfish.. so long as it doesnt smell wierd heat it up however you want..... throw it in the microwave.....it wont mater

yeah but i would definately eat it the next day or at the most two days after it was originally cooked, seafood goes bad so quick
