Ever persons body is different, so you probably have a flat stomach, but your legs are big its genetics and there isn't much you can do. There is no such thing or anything you can do to spot reduce 1 area of your body if yo ukeep focusing and working 1 area you are only going to make it larger. You need to start adding strength trainging to your workouts at high reps 15-20 with very light weight and maybe back off a little on the speed walking because you are most likely building your leg muscles and nothing else. You should be on a high protein and low carb diet and eating 6-8 small meals a day about the size of your palm. Once a week you should have an off day, no working out and no dieting. This way your body won't think there is a shortage of food and it will continue to burn fat at high levels. Also if your thighs are big I would only be doing exercises for them once a week and focus on the rest of your body until it catches up. You will start to notice a difference in about 6-8 weeks and your thighs along with the rest of your body will slim down. Good Luck

The walking is just perfect, I wish I could get everyone to do it like this! Be sure to give yourself one day off a week for recovery too, your body will need it.
Food plays a huge part in weight gain, and so does heredity of course. If this is something that your family has, you might learn to live with it, but it's good that you're firming up! If you're going to have thighs you might as well have great ones! I, for one, can appreciate any kind of a body build if it's firm.
Consider this: Cut back on your portions about half, especially at night. Limit these foods to only once or twice a week: cheeses, sugary treats, fast foods, fried foods. These just pile the fat on! Hope some of this helps ....

If there's a swimming baths close to you, 30minutes to an hour smimming will take the burden off in a greater mushy way and not use your joints as lots. Plus has the income of utilising greater muscle tissues. additionally snacking much less and generic nutrition can help, oh and much less Beer, generally the toughest of the lot. yet 12 miles walking or perhaps 0.5 which will truthfully help get your weight down.

speed walking will give you bigger muscles in your thighs....and your big thighs could be genetics, but most likely from the muscle building that you're doing when you walk. i would say to just cut down on sugar/fat/calories, and don't walk AS much...but you should still walk. i hope this info helped some, and good luck!

Walking always made my thighs bigger too. Stronger, but bigger. The only thing that made them smaller was cutting way way down on how much I was eating. I was very surprised - but it worked.

You cannot reduce in one area alone. Spot reducing does not work.
Losing weight will reduce fat all over. Exercise can (will) tone the affected area, but will not remove fat from just that spot.

It sounds like you're doing the right thing re: exercise. Now, how about the diet? Have you cut back on the total calories?

Is anything else getting bigger? Maybe you should try a bicycle. I always thought when you get bigger everything gets bigger.(o.k. not everything) Genetics do get passed on but that one I'm not sure of.
