Any meat that has been removed from its original packaging and placed in any kind of marinade should ideally be cooked within 24 hours. And you might not be able to tell if it has gone bad if all you can smell is the marinade. Also some marinades may discolor the turkey. To be on the safe side discard it if its been exposed to air and not cooked within 2 days if it was extremely fresh when you bought it, 1 day if it wasnt.

Well for one it depends on what your marinating it in. Also you said turkey, so is it a whole turkey or turkey peices. Any meat is good in the fridge for three days as long as it was bought fresh. If it is out of the frezzer you must cook it the same day or risk possible posioning. Most marinads call for a time of twenty minutes to an hour. If left long than that the flavour can be over powering and not nice. If you want to cook the marinaded meat the next i would recomend draining the excess marinad and wraping it up tightly, If using acidic marinades such as lemons, limes, oranges ect only leave for the max time of an hour. The acidicty will part cook the meat and needs no longer than the time given.
