I will be selling this ring for a freind who is going threw a messy divorce. I have seen the ring and it is prefect. The diamionds are beautifully cut and the settings are really well done. I plane on getting the ring certfified by a several jewlers who are certfied in diamond apprasel.

Check into the sellers "sell record" on ebay and see if its official. You can always draw up a contract with that person on the side that says something to the effect that you will have it appraised yourself, and if you do not find it to reflect the same information as the certificate it came with, you will return it for a full refund from the seller.

I would never buy a diamond without seeing it in person first. Each diamond is cut differently and depending on the depth of the cuts, the number of facets, the thickness of the girdle, etc they all look different and reflect light differently. Plus, there are some really great "fake" diamonds out there that can fool all but the most sophisticated diamond-testers... unless you're a jeweler or know the person I wouldn't risk it. Just go to your local, family-owned jeweler and buy a diamond there.

I wouldn't, but then i wouldn't buy anything from ebay either .....especially a ring. That's just a personal preference though.

Couldn't you take it back to where they originally purched it? Sometimes, they will buy them back. Probaly not for the original price, but maybe for enough. If not, maybe you could take to several jewelers to see who would give you the better price and then sell it to them instead?

Yes, I would. I shop on eBay all the time and have had good results. The sellers are rated. As long as their rating is good, I would say go for it.
