I don't know what the best beaches are, but I can tell you that Long Beach is pretty. Huntington Beach can get crowded, and Seal beach is nice.

Huntington and Bolsa chica. Both have the cleanest water based on report cards just released.

The best beaches in southern california are santa monica, bolsa chica, and la jolla (in san diego).

Right ---they are all sand and run the entire So.Cal. coast line so there are plenty....what else did you want to do????
