There are only two basic reasons why Animal Control would take your dogs away:
1. You are abusing your dogs in some way (not feeding/caring for them, too many dogs in too small of a space, etc.)
2. Your dogs are in some way either a danger or a nuisance to your neighbors and your community.
This would be a very good time to reassess your life a bit, figure out exactly why your dogs are being taken away, then determine how you can change your circumstances so that you will never have this problem again.
If the problem is too many dogs, recognize that accumulating more dogs than you have the time or room or resources to take care of properly is not showing love for the dogs, but rather an indication of obsessive behavior on your part that needs to be modified.
If the problem is abuse of the dogs' health or well being, it's time to educate yourself on how to properly care for and train dogs. There are plenty of good books and clubs with resources to help you learn how to become a competent, responsible owner.
If the problem is that your dogs present a nuisance or a danger, it's time to recognize that as a citizen of your community you have responsibilities to the other members of your community. Among those responsibilities is the requirement to understand that your personal actions and environment have an impact on others around you, and you have a responsibility to ensure that your actions and environment are at least neutral and at best beneficial to your neighbors and others.
As painful as your situation may be, I sincerely hope that it will be a wake-up call for you and that, in the long run, you will become a better, wiser and stronger person as a result of the circumstances that are putting you through such emotional distress at this time.
Peace,
Radical Geezer

you didn't say why the dogs were being taken away, did they do something? Anyway, if animal control is taking your dogs away, they have to have good reason, you can try to get a lawer if your dogs did something, but if it's because they we not being taken care of, you really can't do much. Sometimes you can't controll the situation like becoming homeless and not being able to afford your pets, and painful as it is thinking of the pets should come first. I wish there were some way to ease your pain, I pray that no one was hurt by the dogs, but also pray that the dogs weren't being hurt.

I mean, was he a nuisance barking incessantly so the neighbors complained? Or, did he attack and/or bite someone? Or was he free unleashed in a community that requires all dogs be leashed? There must have been a reason for the Animal Control Officer to take your dog away. I noticed you never mentioned why. You'll get no sympathy or help here unless the dog was unfairly taken away, and you never did say that.

WHat did your dog do for animal control to take it away?? DId it bite someone? If you get a chance to go before the judge you should give your side of the story. They can't just come and take it. They have to have a reason and a search warrent signed by a judge. Find out what it takes of you to be able to keep your dog and do what it takes if you want to keep it.

Why are they taking them? Animal control doesnt just decide to take your dogs away with out a good reason. They try to remedy the situation with the owner if possible. Removal is usually a last resort for the animal's safety.

Aww. You must love the dogs. Nobody here knows why they are being taken away. Is it because you cannot care for them? If that is the reason then maybe they will find them a better home. Ask if you can resolve what is wrong and have the dogs back when you are able to care for them. Please edit your question to tell us what the problem is.

People and their comments...you have no clue. People complain about your dogs and find ways to send animal control to your house. I had them sent to my house twice and nothing was wrong so the officer had no choice but to leave. I was at work one day and she got out of the fence and they got her. She had lost a few pounds and we wormed her several weeks prior to this happening. Well they finally got her and said we neglected her because she had a kind of worm the store meds would not cure. Now the dog was not sick or diseased but she had worms and told me I neglected my dog. They are full of crap. They just wanted to make that neighbor happy that kept complaining.

Well, why are they being taken away? If you're mistreating them, or neglecting them, then , not to be mean, they should be taken from you. Sorry, but it's the truth, the animals well being and health comes before your emotional pain.
