what's up with these damn doctors?

what is up? I went to my gynocologist today and she wanted to put me on some weight loss medicine called xenical. I said okay because I'm 5'1 and about 190 lbs. (way too big) So I go to the drug store to get them and they're 200 dollars a bottle, does she think that I'm rich or what? I draw disability for petes sake! Well, thanxs for letting me vent!

Apparently from your own admission you can afford to eat, if you are on disability, you should also be covered for prescription medications. How did you afford the dr visit?

Yep, I agree, they don't even think about it, most of them anyway, and it's really frustrating! I always get samples, and they have plenty. I use some eye drops for allergies, and every time I run out, I call my dr. and go get more samples. I can't afford $85 a bottle, and it's teeny. You might want to call and ask if they have any samples that you can try, and then just keep going back for more of them.

As a patient you could've opened your mouth and asked her if it was an expensive drug. Most times doctors have a good idea of the costs. Don't you have disability insurance?

It isn't "Dcotors", maybe it's just a few. My dad is a Doctor and he would let them know, "You could try this, but it's very expensive, so you could also try this" bla bla

Just for eveyones information,disability doesn't include Medicaid coverage for two years.That's why she isn't covered.

don't worry about that, you looks great with who you are . don't see doctor any more. They are not there to do slimming programs.
