Hi, am thinking about getting a Nordic Track Ski Trainer, but they are pricey (about $700). Wanted to get some feedback from someone who has already owned or tried one. Thanks!

To people who first use these, they feel very "clunky" and unnatural. That's the only complaint I had. Thank goodness I didn't give up right away, because it got easier each time I used it.

And If you're looking to lose weight, you'll never find a better machine.

There was a test several years ago (consumer reports? not sure) that compared all sorts of exercise machines. They found treadmills to be the best exercise, and the Nordic tracks to be a close second. Rowing machines and bicycles were lower rated.

Agree that they feel really awkward at first. Just hang in there because you'll get used to the proper motion quickly.

Have you checked the want ads for used ones? They were super popular ~15 years ago, many are for sale now at much cheaper than new. They haven't changed much over the years, so you wouldn't be giving up much.

They're good for cardiovascular, fat burning. Everyone is right about feeling a little "clunky" at first, as your arms and legs are all going in dif directions like x-country skiing. It's a good workout, so is the total body gym, the one that chuck norris advertises, we had this is in one of the gyms I worked in.

They are good at what they do.....
But I found mine to be boring after a few minutes, even when I used it in front of a tv.
They are pricey so be sure you can use it enough to get your money's worth, other wise find something else.
