I am trying to find a natural way of sending water to the overhead tank of any without using any means of eletrical method. I mean to say, using natural energy like a smaller version of windmill, so as to add some attachment..so that one can send water from a ground reservoir to an over head tank of any house.

Conect a thick pipe (4 inch maybe) to the reservoir, if it is above ground. This pipe should have a run of a few feet . At the end of this length, connect a thinner pipe (2 inches) with reducter. Let it run a anoter few feet. Connect a thinner one (1 inch) and again let it run a few feet and put a nother reducter to 1/2 inch and pipe to the rooftop reservoir. If the reduction pipe run is on a downlope it would work better. Dont expect supper pressure but it sould help assuming the roof is not too high off the ground.

You may want to try a siphon, where water running out of the tank feeds water into the tank. But it would have to be a closed system to use the water pressure.

you need to use a windmill as you stated on your question, particularly some the windmills used with the aid of ranchers to pump water from wells for livestock could be usable as they could be rigged to in basic terms pump whilst the water interior the tank is low. If the water is working, you need to use the two a gadget prevalent as a "Ram" or a "water wheel" to apply ability interior the working water to pump the water.

hydraulic ram pump, they work slowly but all the time, using the energy of the water itself as power.

The wind mill idea you have is pretty good.
