If you took a human baby from birth and placed it with only dogs (and bitches) without any form of human intervention to be raised until the baby was 20 years old, and assuming that the baby survived, would that human believe in God or would it have to be trained about the theory of God in order to believe?

No, religion is a meme (like language) taught by parents, priests, mullahs, monks etc to kids from a young age. There is no inherent knowledge of god. The people who think that have been brainwahed from such an early age they don't remember life without it.

BTW, there have been many cases of children being raised by wolves, dogs and occasionally large cats such as leopards. It seems that most, if not all, never adjust to human society after capture, and most never learn to speak. The latter is probably because memes like language (and religion) have to be learnt early in order to 'stick'.

As unethical as it may sound, something similar has been done. A young girl was taken and put under isolation since birth. Even after ten years, the child was not able to talk, or even make any sort of contact with other humans. This shows that outside environmental influences are needed for basic things such as communication. So, belief in God would have to be trained.

That human being would have to be told about the concept of God in order to understand and even start to comprehend what a being a "god" must be. Sorry. It's not in your genes to believe in God.

It is entirely possible the child would create a God of it's own as a coping mechanism, just as the first believers in God did and just as hundreds of different groups have done with their own Gods.

But are these alien dogs? Because alien dogs may have all the answers.

Assuming it survived, yes, it would have to be trained. While animals do have the ability to see such things as spirits, they do not have the ability to name, study or worship them. Animal instinct is survival, just as humans. Actual intelligent thinking has to be developed.

Our brains are not "wired for a God". It was primitive mans way of explaining the world around him that some people just can't let go of yet.

the human (baby) is far more intelligent than the dogs, therefore his brain would tell him that there is a creator (god)> Primitive man, had religion since his dawn. it is human nature to worship something, whether it be the moon, sun, etc. Our brains are naturally "wired" for god/spirituality>

It's hard to say what any individual would do. However, if you took several humans and isolated them, those people would almost certainly develop religion.
