Is it true women of the LDS and even some men wear special underwear?
Is it edible?
Does it have shiny little baubles?
Are they thongs?

While normally white, the garment is currently made in the color green for regulation military use. Today, they may be purchased at a church-subsidized cost at the church's website, in temples, or at special distribution centers in Utah. To purchase them, one must show the clerk a current temple recommend.

Women and men who have received their endowment in the temple wear the garments. They are an outward symbol and reminder of covenants and promises one has made with the Lord. They can only be purchased by members holding a temple recommend and are promised to be a shield and protector from spiritual and physical harm.
They are very sacred to those who worthily wear them.
And to others who have some interesting urban legends about them...we do take them off to bathe, swim, etc. and any other time necessary of course...

Wow.... how disrespectful people can be. Yes, temple going LDS folks wear garments, just as Jesus and his desciples wore thousands of years ago. They are sacred and special to the LDS faith. And no, we do not bathe in them or wear them ALL the time. They are an outward show of an inward commitment to Christ.

No such luck on the thongs and shiny colors. This is true people I know some Latter day Saints people. It sort of looks like a short sleeve t-shirt with Bermuda length shorts. For men and women. It's supposed to keep you from wearing anything it could show under i think.
Go figure.

Yes, those things are nutty. They are called "Garments" and hardcore Mormons wear them all the time, they never take them off, even to bathe. They believe that the garments will protect them.

They are a white boxer & undershirt style outfit with masonic simbols in certain places.

It's huge underwear that forces people to dress conservatively. (It's like pajamas!) There are special emblems on it, but the Mormons I know don't wear it.
