that causes most of them to NOT stone people, and NOT kill their children for being disobediant, and NOT keep slaves according to Jesus' teaching? There is some spark of tolerance and fairness that causes them to disobey the Bible--the word of God! Admirable, brave souls...

You have got to be kidding!

God is all for Slavery. He wants everyone to be a slave. All of the Apostles called themselves "doulos" which means "bond servant" or slaves of Christ.

Bible actually instructs people how to judge with regard to the things of God.

Matthew 7:6
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Matthew 12:30
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Well, it's Jesus living in us through His Holy Spirit. (don't try to get your brain around that, because unless you are a believer, it sounds silly) The Holy Spirit's effect upon our lives causes various results which the Bible refers to as "fruit".

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5: 22-23)

Fruit is not something that we produce bu acts of our will, as a natural result of having Jesus spirit living with our spirit. Just as an apple tree naturally produces apples. However, we still have a choice to pick the apples or not. Christians get mad and hurt just like you do, but over time we learn that it's better to see things Jesus way and forgive , by an consious act of our will (pick the apple), than to shoot the offender.

Our natural goodness comes from serving God. Who helped you interpret the bible? Where does the bible say stone people? I remember Jesus saying "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". Since that don't apply to none of us, none of us have the right to stone anyone. Where does the bible say kill your kids? I remember it saying "spare the rod spoil the chld". Therefore, you should spank them for disobeying not kill them. And, where does it say keep slaves. I remember it saying "do unto others as you would want them to do unto you". I don't want to be a slave so I won't keep nobody else as a slave.

Christians desire to please God, and try to display the fruits of the Spirit in their lives.

Galatians 5:22-23--"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."

Jesus taught to LOVE your neighbor. He never said to kill your children for being disobedient, and he said that we should all be servants; not that we should all have servants. In fact he said that he came to serve, not to be served. The bible says that parents should discipline their children, yet it NEVER says to stone them! In the old testament, God forbids Israel to associate with people who sacrifice their children to fake gods. The bible mentions stoning, yet Jesus never said to stone anyone.

Mark 10:45--"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

Actually, natural goodness is found in everyone, that's why it's called "natural". Even atheists can have it, they just have to make sure they don't cause it to go away by watching so much violent movies. Christians also have to be careful their goodness wear off. So where does it come from? One has to deprive the other nature that wants them to be selfish and overpowering. Unfortuantley, there are hypocrites that haven't been saved from this soul killer.

The tolerance and the goodness comes from the spirit of god. Jesus said ,"If I do not go the comforter will not come. He will teach you all things and bring back things to rememberance."Therefore because the spirit is with us , we are able lives that are worth emulating.

Goodness is NOT natural. Goodness is learned. Consider - babies come into this world and think that they are the world. As they grow into toddlers they want everything they see. They have to be taught to share and be nice. Tolerance and Acceptance, Kindness, Gentleness, Compassion, Patience, etc. all have to be learned they do not come Naturally.

Once again, a sad attempt to confuse people about their beliefs. Ya see, that was life BEFORE Jesus Christ came. That was God's way of showing us what life would be like if His Son did not come to Earth to die so that we could live.
