I think it is going the way of milk deliveries, Charles chips and other home delivery systems - not cost efficient, hard to hire people, too risky in many areas by robbers and gangs and such. Such a shame , i used to love the ice cream man.

Because #1 the pedophiles follow the children, and you are all grown up, and #2 the price of gas cannot be paid in pineapple popsicles.

Unfortunately they're a dying breed around here too. I see them around but with about 4 dedicated gelato / ice cream joints in my neighbourhood, I guess they figure it isn't worth the business.

It's amazing that your ears can hear that horrible music 3 blocks away....and you immediately run for the change jar.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Good question where have they gone? Ours doesn't come around anymore either. But we do have the man in his truck with the palletas. Those are better anyways.

What u talkin bout?? come to my hood over here in San Diego and youll see paleteros everywhere, its funny there all wearing cowboy hats and push a cart of ice cream while they ring a bell. It must be cause were so close to mexico.

I never see Mr Softee in my neighborhood. When an ice cream truck is in my sub, I never ever see little kids running to it or after it .....
