On Classic FM there is an ad for a 'Brain Trainer' that involves a man trying to remember a joke which seems to be about a parrot and a dust mite, but he keeps forgetting how it goes. Does anyone know the proper joke? I'd love to read it!

I can do you a parrot joke. I take no responsibility for how bad it is.
A man goes into a pet store to buy a blue parrot. "Sorry", says the shopkeeper, "We don't have any blue parrots in stock. We do however have red parrots, and I'll throw in a free pot of blue paint. Voila: your blue parrot!" So the bloke pays for the parrot and goes home with the parrot and the paint. The next day he returns. "Hey", he says "That parrot you sold me is dead". The shopkeeper replies, "What? A spot of blue paint wouldn't hurt a parrot." "It wasn't the blue paint that killed him," says the customer, "It was trying to get the red paint off with a blowtorch!"
