Age differences will matter less as you get older.. but at your ages, right now, the two of you are at completely different stations in life. 17 and 23 is a huge difference but 50 and 56 is not. I would let this girl go. It is better for her.. she might leave your relationship feeling used and cheap or perhaps even preyed on. what state do you live in? it all depends on the legality of the situation. i don't think there's anything morally wrong with it, but it may be legally incorrect. i would urge you to obey all local, state, and federal laws regarding consent in this situation. if all else fails, wait until your consort is eighteen to start a relationship with them.
