I find that most drivers seem oblivious to weather conditions. They drop from 15 mph over the limit in clear dry conditions to 12 mph over in a hail storm with heavy fog.

If you are in a situation where you can't see,
1. turn on headlights
2. slow down
3. move to the right
4. if moving significantly below the speed limit turn on flashers
5. increase following distance with vehicle in front
6. Signal ALL lane changes. Let signal flash at least 3 times before starting to change lanes
7. if conditions degrade, get off the road until safe to travel.
Try to be as predictable as possible. Don't surprise others
What not to do:
1. Get in left lane and prevent others who may be able to safely travel from doing so
2. Drive in Left lane with flashers
3. Act as if no one else is on the road
4. Park on the shoulder

it can be scarry but what i do is stay in the right lane and drive at a safe speed for conditions... i have even pulled over to a rest area till the rain has lightened up a little.... because a safe speed was too slow for interstate driving..lol

You're not the only one. Where I live we either get 10-inch rains (a drop every ten inches! lol) or gully washers! I hate getting into those because you can't see the end of your hood and idiots don't slow down or worse, turn their headlights on!!!

No, I just slow down. Only a MORON would keep running full-speed through a downpour. Turn your headlights on and throw on your 4-way flashers as well so that other drivers can see you if it's coming down really hard.

Yes, I hate it....I was actually on the German Autobahn yesterday and it was pouring down...Everyone was flying by still going 100+MPH....OMG...I didn't pull over because it's actually illegal and there was no gas station or rest stop with in 5 miles..Well I survived...that's all I can say...Better luck next time on your weekend adventures...

Yes, it scares me to death because other drivers that don't slow down are making it more dangerous for everyone. If they don't slow down, nobody can slow down and its just one big blind road hazard out there. Especially at night with head lights

Freak out? Are you kidding? Man I pull over and wait it out, especially if my kids are in the car with me. It doesn't matter where I'm going I don't need to risk my safety of that of others to get anywhere.
