None. In Berlin, Germany, where the power utilities still spend enough to maintain and upgrade the grid.

Not very many... and the ones we do experience are only for a few minutes. The power is always back up in running with in 20min at the most. If we have severe power outages... well that hasn't happened in like 8 years, when it did happen it was due to a massive snow storm and some people were with out power for a few days.

Near Seattle, Washington State we get a power failure about 2 times a year, each time for about 5 hours, in the winter time

We (Florida) rarely have a power outage...unless it's cloudy...or someone sneezes, or if the sun is shining, or the temperature is above 0...But, if there is a storm of any kind, then we definitely have a high probability of a power failure. Overall, I don't think we have more than one or two a week. And when they do occur, it's not just that the power goes off, it goes off-on-off-on for several minutes before it dies. It's just great for computers, DVD recorders, and refrigerators. FPL takes good care of their equipment and if you want to spend gazillions on their protection plan, they'll take care of yours, too.
