Consignment stores are good. You have to pay them a small fee, but you don't have to do anything but price and deliver the items. Keep a list of what you put in a consignment store.
You could use e-Bay and do lots. However, don't expect to get much for them.
You could advertise in your local newspaper. Many local papers are running deals on personal ads. Some are free if under a certain dollar amount.
Obviously, a garage sale is an option, however... clothes don't always sell well.
Last thing... if you itemize on your taxes, donate them. You may do better with the tax deduction than you will selling.
Good luck.

Sell them on ebay! I actually own an ebay store - and love it!
Helpful hints - when selling clothes, do not sell anything that is stained, torn, or not in good condition. Only sell what is resale-shop worthy. People will be happy with what they purchase, and will come back for more.
When selling baby clothes - group them together as a "lot" - one lot per size. You're more apt to sell them as a lot, then piece by piece. Take close up pictures of each outfit, or take pictures of maybe 2 outfits at a time.
I use auctiva - www.auctiva.com - it's a free website that helps you sell your items on ebay - you can load more pictures, have a template - and not pay the extra fees that you would otherwise pay on ebay (ebay charges 15 cents per extra picture after the 1st)
Specify your terms & conditions in your items description. For instance, whether or not you take paypal, or just want money orders. I highly suggest not to take a personal check. Most banks will charge you a fee for NSF checks - higher than what you'd be getting anyways. Paypal is a great site - I pay my ebay fees, and then deposit the rest right into my bank account. Keep in mind that ebay's rules are 7 days for bidders to pay - I always think people are rude if they don't want to wait the 7 days. (People usually pay within 2 anyways.) Have an "about me" page on ebay - this shows people that you're a real, honest person.
If you have a lot of stuff, it's very cheap to open an ebay store. I think it's fun, too!
Or...you could have a rummage sale. Or hope that a resale shop can sell it.

Have a yard sale. Put signs up at the ends of your street the day before the sale and be ready to start early in the morning (Friday & Saturday are best). People will come knocking at your door if you are not out there.
The more signs you put out, the better your response will be. Get everything ready a day or two in advance and have prices marked, so that, on the morning of the sale, you can easily get everything set up outside without alot of trouble. Be ready for people to try to "barter" down the price...AND be sure to have change ready, and don't take checks unless you know the people!!

Yard sale or Ebay! I think that you will make a little more cash on Ebay! If you have some clothes that you cannot sell, donate it to the church or Salvation Army.

You could have a garage sale. You could also sell them to a Consignment Shop if there is one in your area.
