I know exactly what you mean.
It is very annoying. I have had almost 4 accidents because of people pulling stupid stuff like that. It is mostly older people that do it, I think after a certain age they should make you take another test to see if you are still capable of driving safely.

The breakdown is probably a good explanation, but I think people know how to drive, they demonstrate it everytime there's a cop around, then as soon as police go bye-bye, its back to being 6 inches off your bumper and then 120 mph. So I don't think it's a money issue, I just think people want to see who they can wreck on any given day...So why is it illegal for truckers to run over these idiots? Make my life alot easier. I also want about 75% of truckers off the road, they can't drive either. Word of advice from a trucker, stay away from Werner, Swift, Schnieder, Convenant, JB Hunt, and CRST, they are brand new drivers and can't drive a truck worth a d***

American capitalism. Money. Nobody gives a $#!t about the general public as long as someone makes money off of it.
How is this so?
A complete boob gets their license.
They pay the license and registration fees to the state, as well as the sales tax and emissions testing.
They pay insurance companies more than said company will EVER pay out before canceling their policy.
They pay sales tax to Pep Boys or some other auto parts place for all the bling they stick on their car.
They pay the $1.00 per gallon tax on gasoline to the state and federal government.
They pay the state for the speeding ticket (plus fees and "court costs") they get.
They pay higher insurance premiums because of the ticket.
They pay for a lawyer to defend them against being a clueless moron on the road... and you pay, maybe with your life, when they take you out.
But since everyone makes so much money in the process, nobody cares.
