I heard this advertisement on the radio for a promotion that AOl,
Blockbuster and a few other brands were conducting together. The promotion
stated that if a person went to a web site (I forgot it),and filled out a
survey he would recieve a free Hp laptop. I forgot what the website was ,and am wondering if anyone has heard abou this promotion and could tell me the web site address.

It's a scam. You have to give them all kinds of personal data and then get entered into a drawing to "win". If you do "win", you have to pay an outrageous amount of shipping charges. In any case, you'll get mountains of junk mail (both in your real-life mailbox and your e-mailbox) for the rest of your natural life. In the worst case, you run the risk of becoming a victim of identity theft.

You'll see promotions like these all over the internet. While true, you can earn a loptop or whatever expensive item they're offering, but you must first complete several of their sponsor offers, i.e., pay money to buy a service or product from several sponsors. The "free" gift is not really free, though it is legal to advertise as such, and if you complete the required sponsorships, you will receive it. Personally, I label this under scam.

After you fill out all the infomation that they want about you, you will get SO much junk mail and garbage sent to your e mail address and you home....you will also have your phone ringing off the wall with people trying to sell you something. And during the survey, you usually have to get one or two items that show up on a page, and that can sometimes go up to 10 pages....Best bet for you is to enter drawings at local places, or from real companies.......

You have to complete two of there sponsers advertising promotions to get the lap top. like filling out a credit card app, and getting approved. Things like that, or take a vacation thru one of there vacation planners. Really it is not free. Remember if it sounds to good to be true then most likely it is.

Type in Blockbuster/AOL contest on Google and you'll get a partial answer. Or you could go to or phone , it's best to go to your nearest Blockbuster and find out.
