As much as you look at the bible you would think you would begin to believe it. Again if evolution is possible wouldn't there be more evidence of transitional forms.
Stephen Jay Gould Hartford stated; in an often quoted statement calls the lack of transitional forms the "trade secret" in paleontology.
This kinda leans more towards a creator, all different kinds of plants and animals.
What advantages to you get without a God. Although I can see current adv but not in the long run. To be extinct isn't a good thing. There is a God. It wasn't just an accident. Just like I didn't accidently type this. Where you spend eternity is very important, you might be a brilliant man, but God makes it just as easy for dumb people to get saved. No matter how smart you are, it requires seeking the truth. Have a good day..If you don't like my opinions I'm sorry.. But I'm not an atheist so I can't sit back and do nothing, when I'm certain that God indeed exists.
As far as bibles are concerned, all the bibles I read said the same thing. Unless you go to some Morman, Jehova witness, they should be relativley the same. New Kings James Version is good. Why some don't take it literally is because the bible uses symbolism a lot.. And they misinterupt it. Either that or they want to take out what suits them the best. Not eveyone that claims to be a Christian is one. Its not something your born into, its getting assurance from a holy spirit.

Well... I can't really help you out with the literal and not literal part. I can say, however, that God making the earth in 7 days is to be taken literally, and that Jesus and evolution are incompatible. If God decided to use evolution... then who are Adam and Eve? Some half-monkey-man thing? Actual humans? Then when does the original, first sin happen, to curse humanity and to cause Jesus to be sent down to die for our sins? With man-ape things or actual humans?
Jesus and evolution aren't compatible at all.

One of the most firmly established laws of science is the Law of Biogenesis, which says that life comes only from living things. There is no evidence that dead, non-living matter can spontaneously generate life. The Bible agrees with this scientific fact, for it says that life came from the eternally living Creator [cf. also Acts 14:15]. However, evolution contradicts both science and the Bible, since it demands that dead matter must have sometime come to life.
God created the everything, nothing evolved, there was nothing here to evolve until God created it.

yes it does, because God says to bring forth all living animals according to their 'kind' then the verse concludes that it was so - meaning that all living creatures according to their kind were all present at that time. this rules out transpecies evolution but does not rule out natural selection. for example, there are about 8 different kinds of bears on the globe, but they are all bears and they can all mate. so the original species were all present, then most likely natural selection took over ever since the fall when death entered the world

Sure does. common sense can tell you when to take things in a literal sense and when it is prophecy or a parable. Oh, that's right, common sense is not so common any more where people don't use their brain, if they have one that is. If you read the verses before and after something you don't know about, it will nomally tell you what the meaning is.

So you need to keep reading the bible until you get to Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Ask God to give you a understanding to the words of the bible.

Personally, I don't think any of the Bible is to be taken literally.....
people are different. They have different thoughts, different feelings, different opinions, grew up differently, had different friends/family, etc...The Bible should be read and "interpreted" by each individual person....each person should find their own meaning in the words of the Bible. If we are all different people, then the morals, points, and values of the Bible would apply differently to each one of us, right?

Either the Bible is TOTALLY correct or it is TOTALLY bogus - there is no in-between.
If you say certain verses are valid and others are not - what you are saying is that God is imperfect and He cannot write down words.
All the Bible is correct - it has been proven over and over again - only the ones who CHOOSE to not believe say it has faults.
