It's got to be a story about your in-laws, not just a joke you heard, or TV show you saw.

I like to call this one poetic justice! My soon to be mother-in-law at the time says to me in front of the whole fam "girl you are getting fat! Are you sure you'll be able to fit that wedding dress!" Then at the ceremony I looked gorgeous no doubt and she gained so much weight that she busted a big whole in the side of her dress right there in front of everyone!

OK! After 10 years of marriage, my in laws decided to come visit us. They live in Australia. For the first three days of their visit, they only wanted to see my husband. They have never ever met their grandchildren who are 8 and 6. During these 3 days they told their son he was too young to be tied down, should be out dating all sorts of women, shouldn't have had kids, that he should have "adopted" a child from world Vision. You know, where you just send a monthly cheque! On the 4th day, my mother came to town. His parent's wanted to know what she thought about all of this. So, we set up a meeting at their hotel. We left the kids at home because I knew it was going to get nasty. My mother told them that they were crazy, that she didn't have any respect for anyone that didn't accept HER grand kids and told them to F-off. My mom is 68 and has various medical problems but threatened to kick both their tails. It was too funny. The next day they cut the trip short and headed home 3 days early. All I had to say was good riddance!!!!!!!!!

Early in my marriage I made a big deal of meals with the in-laws, researching menus and planning for weeks ahead of time. My parents and my inlaws were scheduled to come for a holiday, and when mil asked what to bring I said dessert (she had an excellent bakery near her house) I assured her that my menu was planned and I did not need anything for the main meal.

She brought a huge pan of eggplant parmesan, instead of dessert.

My mother in law told my husband I needed to call and apologize to her for a conversation we had had. She said I was rude to her, and she ended our conversation on a sour note by threatening to deal with me. I told my husband, there was no way, I would apologize that I had done nothing wrong and had said nothing. His mother threatened to do all kinds of horrible things like disown us,and all kinds of stuff. I wouldn't call her.
I refused. Finally, she made me so mad. I called and left a message on her phone, it was the end of the conversation we had had, I had taped it, where she was all sweet and said that she enjoyed our conversation, and that we had a good relationship with great communication.
Wouldn't you know it, She said, That's not my voice!
Needless to say, the woman is a fruit loop.
