And WHAT exactly is your problem with this?
Don't you think that those men & women deserve at least a LITTLE contact with their friends and family?
It could be the last chance these people get to speak to their loved ones before the DO go "off to fight" and DIE, you insensitive jerk!
If you're so hot to go without ANY of the comforts of home for 6-18 months, please go sign up for military service and tell the recruiter that you WANT to go to Iraq and suffer along with the rest of our service members. Selfish jacka$$.
Besides, does it really effect your day at all? P!ss off.

Well, first off I hope he isn't using his cell phone because it will cost him a fortune. Second, they have work days just like people here do. For the most part they work 12-16 hours a day. What they do on their off time is their choice. Soldiers get moral calls, usually a couple times a week. Their family members also get moral calls, to call into the country. They are usually short, about 10 minutes. I assure you he is doing his part to keep our country safe.

I don't see anything wrong with that at all and it is allowed. My son thought about doing it but it turned out to be to expensive since he was just an E-2 at the time. They can call every day any was from the phones the military provides.

well is was in ramadhi, iraq. My mos was communications. we had access to satellite phones 24/7. so in the middle of the night when we are on radio watch we would use the satelitephone to call home. Even if someone was not in the communications field, if someone is my friend or if they helped me out in some way, i would let them use the phone for a few minutes

Seriously?????????? How great is that!! I know an individual who just left for Iraq and he can't have any contact with his family for 90 days! Appreciate the fact that he can call his family! What a relief it must be to hear his voice everyday! You're not complaining-----------RIGHT??????

When my ex was in the Saudi war I was lucky if he called me once a month. Feel lucky that you are getting the calls from him and not having the chaplain showing up at your door. He misses home and needs the contact, don't see how anyone could blame him for that. God speed

He may want to check his cell phone bill or have a family member do so on his behalf. Those could be some outta-sight roaming charges!
