People love to categorize things. Religions, especially, like to paint everything as black and white. In fact, most are grey.

Sin is an outdated concept meant to make people feel guilty about being human. If you can make someone feel guilty, it is easier to sell your "solution".

There are so many people out there claiming to be of a religion, but don't truly understand it. They have either been conditioned, or claim they believe in it becuase of the people around them. I was raised around Christians and Catholics, now I am an Athiest. Well actually I started questioning God when I was about 7 or 8. Sort of young for a person to be questioning the world around them.

I think there are so many questions not because of a person's religios beliefs, but because they have a sincere desire to know the truth without falling into sin. The Scripture says, "It is a dangerous thing to fall into the hands of the living God." So I guess the ultimate reason lies in the old expression that it's better to be safe than sorry!

Because most people don't even know what their religion really means. Some people go to church just to be seen there and spend most of their lives lying about their beliefs. Some people just do not want to hear all of the "Do not do this and do not do thats" from a man/woman standing in the front of a church.

2 TIMOTHY 3:2-7

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I think those lost souls are looking for reinforcement one way or the other because they're so used to being in a religion and being told what's right or wrong they can't make up their own mind.

Pathetic really...

Some people believe loop-holes work with righteousness. Its an attempt at validating behavior that is clearly wrong.

Because christians are obsessed with sin. They think that by repenting their own sins it sets them above everybody else.

Because people are weak...Satan is there tempting us every second of every day. So, yeah, we ask. Woudn't you rather ask to make sure, or would you just jump and maybe find out you were wrong...after it's too late.
