There is a state in America where if found guilty of murder you *must* recieve the death penalty.
A man in this state commits a murder, goes to court, and pleads guilty, and is found guilty, but doesn't recieve the death penalty. Why?
PLEASE HELP! IT'S REALLY BUGGING ME.

When he commits the murder, he is in the state of being an unsaved sinner. By pleading guilty to the crime he has admitted to God that he is a sinner that needs saving, and been given forgiveness for the crime. So therefore he is in a state of being a forgiven sinner, and shall not receive the punishment.

ive just had an idea!

is it because the murder he comitted was investigated by the FBI and not the state police and the trial was conducted according to federal law and not the state law for that particular state?

Does he commit the murder in another state even though he is FROM the state you are talking about?

I think he is already dieing of another disease.. maybe cancer or something. He pleads for the death pentalty because he doesn't want to live with his disease, but I do not think that most courts are willing to kill a person that needs medical treatment.

he as murdered someone from a different state he can be tried in his own state but where he committed this murder, he has to go by their laws

State may not necessarily mean a place, but maybe a condition i.e. state of denial

maybe he doesn't "receive" the death penalty mentally...like he doesnt accept its going to happen. I don't see any other holes in the story...nothng logical at least.
