Where are you travelling from??
I used the train line, and once a price was given, i clicked the find a cheaper fare link - train may take a little longer or you may have to change trains but mine cost me less than £20 from Fareham to Exeter.
Have popped the link below, good luck and enjoy

The National Express! this coach company is always cheaper than Rail - also bearing in mind the current terror threat, it may be wise to avoid major railway stations at the moment!

Depends where you're starting from. Try National Express and their funfare anywhere tickets. They start at £1 and there is loads of bargains to be had!

Have you tried going by coach instead? They could be cheaper though the journey will take longer.

National Express Coaches.
Regarding train tickets, if you book them waaaaay in advance, may be a month or two, they can be reasonably priced.

have you tried pre-booking? I think you can do this up until a week you are travelling.
