It starts way back with Theodore Herzel and the Zionist movements conception in 1896. and goes all the way to today. That is for the modern reason, but this is a war from the beggining to the end of time.
No one disputes the fact that Israel came in and pushed people out of their homes and took over their cities. Read the history of Haifa people it used to be Arab. Thus is the reason Arabs are pissed at Israel and call for its destruction. Most Muslims are not Arabs but Most Arabs are Muslims and thus the Muslims feel with the Palestinians and thus hate Israel. The U.S. has put a rubber stamp ok on everything Israel does so most Muslims hate the US.
Pretty easy story right.
PS: I just love how the U.S. tries to convince us that two kidnapped soldiers are worth the lives of 1000 dead civilians. That is wat we call in the states fresh hot B.S.
PSS: no one fired rockets into Israel during the time of the Israeli pull out of lebanon till the day of the new war. So stop with the lies and propaganda.

The reason for the Israeli attack is simple yet complicated. For 58 years that nation has been fighting for its survival against its Arab neighbors. Every war it has fought was stopped due to international anti-semitism, like the current French. For once in Israeli history the only real power behind the U.N. militarily (the U.S.) agrees with their actions. Israel is doing this because they won't tolerate the repeated kidnapping of Israeli military personnel, because they're sick of Hezbollah firing rockets into Israel before this year, because they're sick of listening to Western pressure and giving the Palestinians their chance at creating their own country and pissing it away because they just want to kill Jews. Water? The Israelis have the Galilee, they don't need water.

Countries are always threatening military action to change opposing policies. But they never carry through for such reasons. Military action is very expensive!
Israel's invasion of Lebanon was initiated for the same reason that we invaded afghanistan. The bad guys were using it as a "home base" and the local government was pretending not to know about it.

There are tons of reasons, water is just one. At the same time as this is going on in Lebanon they are busy shelling the crap out of the Gaza Strip. Land plays a big part of this. Also the south of Lebanon is the access route for any Invasion of Syria. US and UK are very eager for control of that area, that should be obvious.

Self Defense. For example, You don't have to wait for the dagger to enter your chest before you fight back. You are allowed self defense the moment you see the dagger. Did Israel really need to wait for Hez to get the first shot? Who could afford such a luxury? Not America and not Israel.

The reasons are ENDLESS. But the majority here in the states are one sided. No matter what Israel does, we agree with them and we back em. The rest of the world sees them from a differnet perspective than we do here. So does is it matter if we list the reasons? I think not.
