You are normal. Don't worry. In today's world, it's hard to say if it's anyone's fault that they're overweight, if they are. And by the way, you aren't. With the way today's world is, and all these things being promoted that are bad for you, like Mcdonalds and high sodium foods and such, it's a wonder it's not much worse. However, if you have reservations, you can do something about it.

The fastest, easiest and safest way to lose weight would involve almost a complete overhaul of your life.

Here's how to do it.

1) Change your diet. Think like this. Fats, good in slight moderation. However, stick to a low fat (not no fat) diet. Carbs, GOOD. Don't overdo it, but stick to a proper carb intake. Those low carb diets are bad because carbs are brain food. They help your brain function, and help you think. That brain function is the very one that helps your metabolism increase, and your blood flow and your system work properly. Calories, think low, but not too low. Burning fat occurs when you use more calories than you take in. A word of caution though, calories are necessary to function, as they are the basis of energy.
Stop with the caffiene. Stop now. If you're drinking soda or coffee, leave it alone. You will notice a positive change in your energy levels within two or three days. Stick to water, gatorade and powerade. Hydrate hydrate hydrate. Water, gatorade and powerade is what your body needs, water being the number one. It will keep you cool, energized, hydrated and awake, I promise. Drink so much you cant' take anymore. But leave enough time before exercises so you don't cramp up, between 30 and 60 minutes.

2) Exercise. Walking, running, the eliptical and weight training will do amazing things for your body. Weight training must be done right though. You should focus on less weight with more reps, as that tones down. That will not necessarily lose the body fat, that's what eating right is for (note I said eating right, not dieting. Dieting is a temporary thing, eating right is not). Weight training will assist in burning carbs, and will tone the muscles so when the fat disappears, you'll have a healthy amount of muscle there. Remember, less weight, more reps. Any halfway decent gym will have someone there to help you or show you.
Walking or running for 30-40 minutes a day, 3 times a week (to start) will do amazing things for you. Just walk around the block for 40 minutes a day, 3 times a week, that's it.
And the suana. A decent or halfway decent gym will have one for you. 15 minutes at a time, 3 times a week every day that you don't walk, minus your rest day. Your average joe can lose 15-20 pounds in a month just going to the suana.
And stretch. Loosen up those muscles. You'll thank yourself for it when you're walking.

Talk to a doctor. Please talk to a doctor. Don't use drugs or medication. Don't go anorexic or bolemic please. And it's important to realize your BMI (Body Mass Index). That is the percentage of your body that is fat. 18 to like 25 or so is normal. 4 is as low as it is safe to go. Anything over 30 is considered obese. Yours is approximately 24.6 according to the National Heart, Lungs and Blood Institute. Get yours read at the doctor and it will tell you exactly where you are and you and your Dr can come up with a goal and a plan to get there.

Good luck and post more if you have questions.

PS Oh and if you can, invest in wrist and ankle weights. That's all you should need to tone. Use them when you walk or do your day to day activities. Or if you don't have that, a full gallon jug of water weighs 8 pounds. Get half of that and carry a few with you throughout the day.

Your ideal weight is 100 lb. You inherit alot of things from your parents so I guess that must be it. But you can do something about it though. Start a healthier lifestyle and break a sweat at least ten minutes a day everyday. I would recommend you to read the Total Health Makeover by Marilu Henner. It helps you determine what to do to change your lifestyle and your life. The book also mentions about the diseases you might inherit from your family and how to prevent it. It's not a diet, it's a way of healthy eating that the book will lead you too. Try it and in a few weeks, you'll see results. In all mind and body. I hope that helps.

Well it is my guess you could loose a FEW pounds - given your height and weight...but really only a very few. you could more than likely do this pretty easily by watching what you eat (not dieting) and getting in a little more physical activity in your daily routine. Seriously 25-50 scrunches a day, walk the family dog, something along those lines - plus since we don't know you it is hard to say if you are still carrying around what is commonly referred to as baby fat, which is adorable and burns off pretty easily in your mid-teen years!

And don't forget weight is not the only thing to consider - take a long hard look at your overall body structure. You might find yourself happy with your body and not needing to worry about how much you actually weigh.

There is no such thing as someone who is predispositioned to have a lot of fat on their body. So you didn't inherit fat from your family. If you have the jiggles and flabs on your body, that's from lack of exercise and overeating.

You may FEEL fat (or fater) because you may have inherited a big body frame size. But just because you have a bigger body frame, there is no excuse to have fat on it.

The healthy weight range for a girl of 5'1 is from 100-129. So you are definately not OBESE. You may be a little fat or you may be average, depending on your body frame size.

If you are reall concerned, you need to get a body fat percentage test done to see how much fat you have on your body. This is -the- best way to tell if you are overweight. Most gyms or doctors will do the test. You can also do it at home (find some online guides to measure skin folds).

What size jeans do you wear? Because I'm 5'2 125-130 lbs..my stomach is flat, but i have big boobs and a big butt, so im proportioned correctly, so I dont consider myself fat. I can wear from a 5-6 to a size 9, it just depends on the jeans. If u think your fat, and you want to drop weight, go to GNC and buy Nutrex Lipo-6..it heats up your body and sky rockets your metabolism, i dropped like 7 lbs in 2 weeks, it was awesome :)

I am 5'0 and last year I weighed in around 137lbs and I felt huge! Everyone would tell me that I wasn't fat, but i felt that I was. I decided that I wanted to do something about it so I went and talked with my doctor because I had my wedding coming up. He prescribed me phentermine and I took it for a little over a month. I only lost about 5 lbs taking it, but after I realized that I could do it, I developed an exercise plan. I bought an elliptical machine and I get on it for an hour 5 days a week. I try not to eat after 5 and I allow myself at least two cheat days where I splurge on things I love to eat. It worked for me. I am now at 105lbs and fell great. I look at pictures at me from before and can't believe what I see.

It is not your fault unless you have developed bad eating habits. My family is short and carries most of their weight in their hips so I figured that mine is inherited. I have still have troubled areas on my body that I am working on now.

The important thing is your healt so if you are really concerned talk to your doctor.

No you're not. Check the BMI (Body mass index) you should fall in the mid range..which means you're fine. Exercise is always a good way to start toning up. Try a team sport or tennis....somehitng that won't bore you like being on the treadmill (bleh)

Only you know if you are fat or not. If you feel you are just try toning and exercising a few minutes everyday. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just do something about it! Whatever you do, don't let society determine what is more appealing about you. Make that determination for yourself and work on it.
