You're just crazy. You are making a choice to be miserable, and to let things affect you. YOU are your own worst enemy.
You can make a choice to try and be happy, or you can just be whiny and miserable. No one can help you but YOU.

No, it is not normal, nor are you crazy.
It is normal for teens to feel a wide variety of emotions, and much stronger emotions than many adults. (Which is my way of saying that some of the extremes will go away as you get older.)
But any teen who feels depressed should speak to an adult they trust about it. Some kinds of depression can be a life-long problem, and the sooner they are identified and treated, the less of a problem they will be.
Anyone who believes that you "just choose" depression has no idea what they are talking about!
Please, talk to your parents about it! If they don't hear you, talk to a school counselor or nurse. Keep talking about it to adults who are in a position to help you until someone does. I promise you that, if it is depression, it can get better and you can enjoy what are sometimes called "the best years of your life." (No one actually believes that, mind you. We all know that the teen years are tough! But depression is not a normal part of that equation!)

I can answer this one from experience, yes it is normal for a teen to be depressed and feel that way a majority of the time. Teens go through a lot during the highschool years and a lot of them suffer from problems that people don't discuss because its part of the growing process. I would say that you need to do what is best for you. If you think your depression is keeping you from living your life and achieving your goals then you should seek help of some kind. Don't settle for any psychologist because they have to fit your personality. Shop for one. If the money is an issue with you then ask your local church or Catholic Church, I know the Catholic Family services offer such services at discounted prices...I went for two years. If you don't think it is a problem then don't worry about it, but the fact that you posted such a question tells me that it is so you need to speak to someone you trust about seeking help, and remember a shrink isn't there fix your problems they are there to tell you the truth, "Yes your ****** up...now how do YOU want to fix this." I hope this helps honey, and I wish you the best of luck.

Some depression now and again is normal for everyone.....and teen years are particularly hard on people - so much going on with your mind and body...but if you feel compelled to ask about it then you probably need to talk to someone. Your parents are a good place to start but many times that simply doesn't work - in fact during the teen years parents may be part of the reason for depression...so if you can't talk to them PLEASE find someone else to talk to...people on here are very helpful...but it would really be good to go to someone who actually knows you like your doctor, school counselor, school peer groups, clergy, or another family member. Sometimes just the act of talking through things will make you feel better.

No, it's not normal, and no, you're not crazy either. Talk to your parents or another trusted adult. If it's situational depression, meaning that something in life is making you sad, maybe talking to someone would help and you could work through it. You could have a chemical imbalance that a little pill can fix. Do something, don't go through your life miserable. You're young and these are the best times in your life, though you may not realize it yet. God bless...

When you are growing up, it is common to experience some depression, but I think that is unhealthy if it is a constant feeling in your life. You're not crazy, but depression can lead to some not so "sane" feelings, so it's good that you recognize what you are feeling right now!
Any friends that you can talk to and see if they can relate to how you are feeling?
Do you have a school counselor you can talk to?
Any hobbies or interests? Join a club: like art, reading, sports, computers, drama, something that you think you would like - then you can meet people and have something to look forward too!
Talk to your parents or a trusted adult... they can usually help!!

YES! It is normal for ANYONE no matter what age to be depressed. it is a chemical imbalance. Or you have crappy parents. I was depressed at 13, and now I am 23 and Bi-Polar. I barelt found out I was Bipolar 2 years ago. So I am still working on it. The faster you get help, the easier your life will be. I started doing drugs, sex, cutting, and going crazy so early. I have tried to kill myself so many times....but if only i woulda gone to the doctor earlier, i wouldnt have had done that stuf...
tell your parents you think you want to talk to someone. They should take you,,,,good luck, and hang in there...i dont know you but my heart goes out to you for having these feelings

Try not to be depressed, get out and enjoy life! These can be very enjoyable years, I hope you can enjoy them. Things start to get sticky in the adult years, you have to get a real job, buy a house, pay all kinds of bills, work every day, or raise kids, so enjoy the free time you have in the years before all that kicks in. Wishing you all the best!

NOT NORMAL...you need some help.. See your doctor, you may need meds to get your hormones in balance. This is in NO WAY how you should be living. Unfortunately, there is a chance that you have been depressed so long that you actually enjoy being depressed...it happens to some. In any event, see a doc ASAP. Not a good way to live, and it is so un-necessary. Good luck
