You have what seems to be classic body distortion syndrome or something of that sort. No matter what you do you find something wrong with you, dont you? You need to see a doctor or psychiatrist...especially if you still think your fat after losing over 100 pounds.

I haven't had a gastric bypass but I did lose a tremendous amount of weight about about 10 years ago. After I lost the weight I suffered from I call "fat brain syndrome". I don't know if there is such a thing or not. I always struggled with weight growing up. Even when people told me I was looking great, or even telling me I looked too thin I still felt fat, only because I always felt that way growing up. It was hard to shake a lifetime of negative body-image. A friend of mine who DID have a gastric by-pass said she felt the same. She used the exact words I did..."fat brain syndrome". One of the first things I had to start doing to get past it was to change my wardrobe and start buying clothing that fit my new shape (not the clothing that I always wore that "hid" my shape...or so I thought).
I think I can understand how you feel and empathize with you. I wish you lots of luck.

I don't think it has anything to do with your gastric bypass. At 5'7", I would kill to be in a size 4 and weigh what you do.
I am also overweight, 5'7", 230....I wish I could have gastric but they will only do it if you are 100+lbs overweight and I am not.
You obviously have some type of eating disorder that makes you feel fat....you should get some help (psychiatrist?) before you make yourself too sick or depressed.

Murfdigidy (above) hit it right on the nail. It is called "self body distortion."
At 5 ft. 7 you should weigh anywhere between 130 - 140. That is perfect.
I went through this when I went on a diet to lose 70 lbs. and then kept going with it because I thought I was still overweight and kept saying to myself if I could just lose 1 more pound. Well, I continued with this until I became anorexic and ended up weighing 110 lbs. (I am also 5 ft 7.)
Here is a link about "Distorted Body Image." Hope this helps.
This is what it comes down to. You need to focus not on the Number (of what you weigh, I hate those damn scales), but on exercising and feeling good about yourself. It is not about the number.

Because many people see runway models in ads.
You are a healthy wieght, fine for your BMI.
Body fat percentage will tell you more however.
but i think you are fine.
See when we as society have a certain look thrown at
us we gradually accept and then demand it.
Look at the 50s, the women where a bit fuller
all over, then recently. But that was the way
models were expected to be, just 30 years
earlier during the roaring 20s, women would
swallow tapeworm eggs to make themselves
skinny, because thin and lanky was in.
And now i am starting to see curves comming
back! Look at women like Monica bellucci
and Beyonce for inspiration. Because guys
like them, theyre curvy, and smokin hot!
Good luck to you

It's a pressure that American women and girls seem to get. I believe it was because of so many magazines and TV shows that have an image of beautiful people with toned body and angelic face. They make people feel bad for not looking like that, which leads to low self esteem. If you want to look good and feel good at the same time, try to start a healthy lifestyle and break a sweat for at least ten minutes a day everyday. I would recommend you to read the Total Health Makeover by Marilu Henner, a book that would help you reshape to a better lifestyle. The author wrote this from her personal experience of transforming her body from overweight to one at the ideal weight. Believe me, it speaks your mind. I hope that helps!

because at one time you were what you thought to be overweight, you see yourself weighing less now and in your head you have a fear of putting the weight back on even tho you had surgery.its just about impossible to put on the weight you lost only because the fat tisues have been cut out permantley.relax with what you got and enjoy it. you say you are a size 4 now? you must look pretty good in a bikini! your friends are telling you the truth when they say you look good , i dont think they would be cruel enough to tell you you look good if you didnt. enjoy the rest of the summer

You feel "gross" because your problem is mental, not physical. You hate yourself. If you loved yourself, you could be happy and ok at ANY size. No matter how small you get, unless you learn to accept and love yourself, you'll always be miserable.
You have a choice.
But it takes some guts to actually accept yourself.
Can you do it, or are you doomed to a lifetime of self-IMPOSED misery????
