Yes if trying to lose fat, working out after you eat just burns the carbs you just ate, not the fat around you stomach

Your body doesn't start burning fat until most of the glycogen is depleted. To deplete most of the glycogen, you need go 2-3 hours without eating. That will give you an effective fat-burning workout.
But remember everyone is different. If you NEED to eat or else you feel lightheaded, then by all means eat.

I think if your stomach is full it draws a lot of blood supply, which then is not available for your muscles for whatever else you are doing.

I tend to work out when I am hungry, burns calories quicker
