I've been waiting for a phone call from my med clinic/therapist and have been playing phone tag all morning, and I'm very frustrated. Any suggestions on how to deal with this frustration?

Frustration is no different then stress or worrying to much, it's easy to get all three when things just don't go right. It's easier said then done, but try to focus on something else to distract your mind, keep bus with something like read a book, cruz the internet, watch tv or try mediation, listen to a relaxing tape and think of the most relaxing place you've ever been or want to go and do nothing but concentrate on that place, breath deep and slow for about a half hour-hour, the more you do it, the less stressed, worried and frustrated you'll get.

Hello.. I can sympathize with you. One thing I will tell you is Doctors, especially therapists, are very busy. When they have time to call you it is usually a limited time slot. If your phone rings but you can't get to the phone so you have to call him/her back, you are back on their time schedule again... visiting their patients. If you call and tell the receptionist that you have an emergency and need to talk to the Doctor NOW, which sounds like your situation, the Doctor SHOULD be able to talk to you no matter if they are in session or not. My doctors will do that. BUT, if you are just frustrated because you want to talk to your Doc. NOW and can't wait because of a compulsion... I understand your difficulty, but you have to just tell yourself that they are busy and they WILL call you when they can. Continue to do what you would normally do throughout the day... if you don't have a cell phone and can't leave the house because you are waiting for this call... do some chores at home.. organize your files, read, look up information on the Internet, but don't wallow over it because all it will do is drive you crazy and you will feel anxious. I know... I've been there... especially when I WANT to know an answer to a question... on that is not an emergency.

Hope this helps!

Try to relax by doing something else. Waiting for health related issues is always frustrating.

Yeah, get off the computer so they CAN call. And remember, they have tons of others to call, too.
