Well see my mother had this BBQ the other day where she invited the family over. And my Grandparents came. I had already eaten a few hot dogs and hamburgers, but Im a big girl and am 20 years old, so you know a girl has to eat. Anyways Grandma had requested she get to taste my mom's strawberry shortcake. But so many people loved it that there was only one slice left and it was between me and my Grandma. My Grandma smiled and asked if she could have the slice, and I said "No" because my mother made it and I hadn't had any dessert yet. So Grandma offered to split it but by then I had already started eating it and since I take big bites I had eaten most of the slice already. With my mouth full of cake I tried to offer her the 1/4 that was left but my Grandmother said "No thank you" in a bitter way and told my mother how selfish I apparently had been. My mother yelled at me but I yelled back, claiming it wasn't my fault Grandma didn't want the 1/4 of cake that was left! Should I feel bad?

Yes, you should have offered to split it with her BEFORE you started to gulp it down. You are childish, selfish, and need to learn respect.

Umm..yes. The least you could have done was split the piece since your Grandma seemed to be pretty fond of it. What you could do to make it up to her though: Ask your mom to make another strawberry shortcake and take it over to her house and apologize for being rude. She IS your grandma..you should have more respect for that than offering her the 1/4 piece that had already been bitten off of. If some small kid did the same to you, would you have reacted the same way? wouldn't you think the kid had been rude?

You could have been gracious and offered half of the slice rather than having been selfish.Sharing brings much more happiness than beings selfish.

Yes since you knew that Grandma wanted it before she knew you wanted it. Plus Grandma was a guest. You should have put it on a plate for her... the whole thing. My opinion.

Yes not because you didn't give Granny any but because you did not share with me.
