"Why do you wake up every morning?" Because I'm a living animal, and that's how we do things.

"Who created the sunset?" No one. That's just how the Big Bang plasma acts in response to the laws of physics.

"Why do you keep breathing?" Krebs cycle. Etc...

One of the biggest arguments parrot theologists claim is that you can't explain scientifically things such as spiritual enlightenment, the feeling of being touched by God, etc.

One fo the biggest retorts to this is simple: take any drug that changes your perception: Ecstasy, LSD, Shrooms - etc, and the chemical reactions in the brain feel *exactly like* what others describe as being touched by a God, etc. Oh - also - those drugs are concidered "spiritual drugs" because for those whom have taken them, it's a general agreement that life becomes more spiritual and the love of everything natural and free is greater than ever.

Finally, when you start getting old you'll realize one day that you randomly sit down and stretch your body - after years of forgetting to do so - that wow.... that feels really good. It's free and relaxing and feels *great* - that's why Yoga is such a hit in this country, it's connecting spiritually through a simple thing:

chemicals... in... the... brain!

Some people have things wired differently than others. Christians get the same chemical reaction from praising a wizard in the sky as someone else would stretching, or someone else would eating a plant. It's just a different expression of the same chemicals.

And anyway, people that don't believe in Jesus still feel spiritual and in tune with love - but they refuse to believe that, since they automatically look down on others... then they use that as a standard to judge others upon O_o

Weird, weird idiotic passes at life.

There are many explanations but will they ever listen. More importantly, will they ever understand. Science may help solve this problem in the near future.

Scientists will soon explain why some people are religious and believe in God, and why there’s so much trouble caused in the world by religion. Scientists have already shown that some people carry a "warrior" gene that makes them more prone to violence and criminal acts.

Some people are genetically predisposed to violence and criminal acts, and I believe scientists have also found that some people are genetically predisposed to religious or spiritual acts, but have yet to publish their full findings to avoid a public uproar.

Scientists may well discover that people who are predisposed to the “religious or spiritual” gene are probably more likely to also be predisposed to the “warrior” gene, which would ultimately cause these people to have religious conflicts like crusades and wars. It is already a well known fact that religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began.

There must be a rational explanation why religious people act in such an irrational manner.

How many theists realize that you don't really need explanation for anything. You want explanation because you're scared. You're scared that you might stop breathing so you gotta be explained how you breathe and why you breathe. You're scared that you might not wake up next morning so you gotta be explained why and how do you wake up, etc.

distinct universes are accessible with particular physics theories. fail to work out how this says some thing about god. lets purely be pulling stuff out of our butts, there is truth no longer some thing about it contained in the Bible. Oh wait -- the Mormons imagine this! they imagine there are households of gods and each and every makes a universe. That our universe is made with the aid of one God yet there are others.

When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kinds of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt.

I know.
They really are small-minded idiots aren't they.
They readily accept an explanation based in mythology and fantasy, but tell them the truth based on obervation and evidence and they reject it.
Staggering.

Dear Furious,

Yes, but then, there is no real answer for "Why?" in the physical world, only answers for "How?"
