There is in fact a huge benefit to doing it one way or another.A very light cardio routine before just to warm up is good.Do all of your strenuous weight training after warming up then stretching.
After you've done the weight training portion of your work out you've depleted most of your glycogen stores at which point you will target more fat for fuel through gluco neogenisis.
This is proven fact based on controlled clinical research. It's not just my opinion. If you do your whole cardio routine you'll burn the fuel that you need to do the weight lifting.
When doing both it's important to understand the difference between anaerobic and aerobic exercise and the fuels used during either as well as the physiological mechanisms involved.

When you choose to do cardio at the gym depends mostly on what your weight training goals are. Cardio goes before if you want to tone up and not gain alot of muscle, cardio goes after if the goal is weight gain. This is because of the energy loss with cardio and the body's chemicals released into the muscles once the training begins

I've seen both regimens supported by different 'experts'. Personally, I like to do light cardio first. It gets the blood flowing throughout the body and warms you up. I do longer / more intensive cardio sessions and weight training on different days, though. If your levels of activity are both intense, you'll tend to go into a catabolic state after 1.25 - 1.5 hours, and you do more harm than good. Ideally if you want do both with some intnesity, you may want to break up your sessions into alternate days to speed recovery and optimize your results.

Cardio first. If you do weights first your cardio wont be as effective. Plus cardio will give you a good stretch before lifting.

there is no benifit to doing it either way. I always do cardio first becuase its my least favorite and im more likely to get through my workout if iget it out of the way. But whatever you decide make sure you do a 5 min cardio warm up before you hit the weights (if u decide to do them first).

since you don't start really burning calories until after 20 minutes, do whatever you want the most benefit from second. That is what I was told by the gym.
