I think that may just be a cultural tradition among roman catholics in India. I was raised roman catholic in the United states and have never heard of that practice. But hey, the catholic church doesn't say that you can't wear blue and not cut your hair until three, so why not?

I do not know of this being a Roman Catholic thing as I am a Roman Catholic. I guess the blue could be in honor or Mary but the hair thing I cannot guess. It could be an India thing.
