I heard a story about a guy who proposed to his fiancee with a kitten - an engagement ring around the kittens collar.

Other stories are a lot more elaborate. How do you feel about the kitten one? Or are there any other stories that stand out in your memory?

I have heard plenty of tear jerking stories about romantic ways to propose made by both men and women. I would have to say that anything that involves a small pet or a small child win me over the most. The cutest one was this man was dating this single mom. He had her three year old son walk up to her with a box (looks like a lunch box) and told the boy to say "this is for you" The little boy got on his knee, took the ring out of the box and then the guy came out carrying a HUGE bouquet of balloons, got on his knee in front of everyone (she was at work- he was supposed to be bringing her lunch) and asked her to marry him. Everyone was crying, the woman said yes and all was good!

You hear the stories about the people who propose at sporting events, in newspapers (taking out full page ads), having the intended called up onstage at a theatre during a play and having the person ask them there. I have also seen on the news this man who had a billboard proposal done up for his gf. He was driving on the highway, a trooper came and pulled him over (it was his buddy) he made the girl and guy get out of the car and then the girl saw it- he proposed she said yes.

No matter how someone proposes, it will forever be etched in both of their minds (especially us women!)

The kitten story is cute, but a little impractical. What was she do with the kitten after wards, I hope the guy made sure she wanted/ could have a kitten.

I was proposed to in a not super special way, but it was just right for me. We went to a ballet I had wanted to see then he proposed after that. I didn't want a big production, b/c it was more of a surprise occurring in a more mundane fashion

The key to proposals is it must fit the person, even the best proposal can be lost if it doesn't fit the person receiving it.

The kitten one is cute but I'd go someplace romantic and propose to the one I live.By Hiding the engagement ring in something and make a scavenger hunt out of it.Or you could
just tie it to the bottom of her wine glass that she's will drink out of. and when she sees the glass she will wonder what the sparkling thing is around the glass. and will untie it and you can put it on her finger.

I like the ones that are unique to the relationship. Something that is an "inside joke" kinda thing that only the two will really truely get.

But that kitten thing is really cute! I would love that!
